Amazon's series starts out with few problems

Series adaptation of James Patterson novels about the complicated and brilliant detective, Alex Cross.. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him onscreen in 1997's Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 movie sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the titular character in 2012's Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap the preplanned sequel Double Cross..

As with the many movies of the cross novels , they just do not get the characters right

Mostly casting. , if you have read every Book in the Alex Cross's series , you have your own image of the amazing characters that come to life right off yet pages.

Alex is a good pick !

But, John Sampson , should be a much bigger man. Like a wide , big , football player.

The kids are ok at the younger age

This Alex is I relate to as my Fav Det Cross. But, Mama Nana , is too young , and I see her as a thinner lady, with a BIG Personality, and always cooking , good , comfort food!

Not , packing , carrots and celery.Her meals in the warm , older , kitchen were written so well, I could taste her cobbler and biscuits !Maria has only a small part and she was also not as I pictured her. I hope he meets Bree Stone ?The music is jamming, and I do see the friendship between him and Sampson, but, it's not as strong as in the novels, and the serial killer does fit, one of the many, Det Cross has to bring to justice , just the plot is a bit confusing , and the killer is discovered fairly quickly too, I hope the series had a 2nd , 3rd and 4th seasons for us to have the Actors grow into their storylines from the Novels.
