Tale
Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home
Michael Schur was inspired to create "A Man On the Inside" after watching the Chilean documentary "The Mole Agent", he says: "The Mole Agent" the documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar regardless of age, ethnicity or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way as: “I have to call my mom.” On our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Does our show essentially contribute to that feeling of wanting to call our moms?.
Remake El agente topo (2020)
I’m not a keen observer, but we broke the entire season on the first night.
It’s the right mix of heartwarming, funny, sad, deep with a plot that keeps you on edge
Ted Danson is great of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in ’99) is amazing and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with.
A good eight out of ten for me, one for all ages and who knows, hopefully another season
It’s set in San Francisco, which of course helps with my rating, but most of all, even though it’s very sad at times, it’s a comedy and gives you hope for the future when we all get a little older.
