In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an older generation model. Eddie Redmayne is one of the best in The Day of the Jackal, bringing depth and intensity to his role, keeping the audience on edge with every move.

Lashana Lynch, however, feels a little out of place in her role here

His performance elevates the story, adding layers of intrigue that make him a compelling protagonist. Though talented, her performance isn’t entirely in sync with Redmayne’s nuanced take, occasionally interrupting the flow and immersion.

A stronger lead would have elevated this

It makes you wonder about the casting choices: Could a different pairing have made this an instant classic? A stronger balance between the leads could have brought the epic impact the story deserves.
